Why Trump is a Threat to Democracy

I don’t hate everything Trump did as president, but, he is a clear threat to democracy.
Every president is a threat to democracy to an extent. Having a country-wide leader that needs a legislature and courts to agree with him to get anything done is a system prone to that leader limiting or completely ending democracy to achieve his goals or stay in power. All presidents push the limits of their power, but, Trump is a special threat to democracy.
Trump has a personality that is focused on himself and he doesn’t seem to put special values on rules or morality. He has a weird ego-centered amorality that helps him not think twice about trampling democracy or the rule of law.
Listen to his words as he campaigns. Trump is ready to extraconstitutionally imprison people he doesn’t like, while demanding that he as president should be immune from criminal prosecution.
Most of all, look at his actions. Donald Trump fired the FBI director because he was investigating Trump advisors and Trump thought he was investigating him. He tried to end the Mueller investigation because he thought its outcomes could hurt him. He tried to force Ukraine to give him dirt on his political rival in exchange for aid, essentially using U.S. foreign policy as a way to get reelected rather than to maximize the security and prosperity of the United States.
